Newimal-Giramingo

In this project I had to combine 2 animals for make it seem like 1 animal. I picked a giraffe and a flamingo to combine. I chose this because both have relatively long necks and I thought it would be cool to put the giraffe neck on a flamingo. First I took the photo of the giraffe and cut out the neck area. On the flamingo picture I used the clone tool to take out the flamingos head and still keep the green background. I then placed the cut out giraffe head where the flamingo's head used to be. I used the smudge and liquefy tool to blend the neck into the rest of the flamingos body. I then went to Hue/Saturation and changed the giraffes color to the closest color to the rest of the flamingo. I then smudged the edges of the giraffe's neck, so it would blend in to the background better. Lastly, the flamingo had a shadow on its body, so I used the blotch and patch tool and got rid of the shadow. I think the piece was pretty successful. One thing I think I could've done differently is just have kept the flamingo neck and put a giraffes head on top. I also could have put a flamingo head on a giraffe. By doing this piece I feel like I've built on my photoshop skills by a lot.

Frog Tongue

For this project I used a picture of a tongue, a frog, and a fly. First I cut out the frog and took off its back legs. Next I lined the frog up with the tongue and used the clone stamp tool to make the frog look like a tongue. I burned the edges and used a shadow tool to make it look more realistic. Lastly, I added a fly and also added a shadow under that. I am pleased with how the project turned out, but I think the tongue could look more realistic. If I could do the project over I may have tried a different frog or animal and made it more realistic. I also learned that photoshop can be a lot easier than I thought.

Angry Pancake

I mad this in Photoshop CS4 for the class. The images I used were a piranhas mouth, pancakes, an eye, and a cartoon mouth. I first spread apart the area in between the pancakes to make room for the mouth. I then cut and pasted the mouth onto the pancake and smudged around it to make the mouth blend into the pancake. Lastly, I changed the color of the pancake and added the eyes and mouth for the raspberries. I feel like the piece was very sucessful and the mouth looks realistic. The most difficult part was putting in the mouth. I learned some basics of photoshop from this project.
